The Ultimate Guide to Kristen Ashley
Kristen Ashley is a magical Goddess to me. Seriously, she can not write a bad book. I love every single one of them so much it astounds me every time. Her books are guaranteed to bring an end to the worst reading slump. Each one is filled with hot, sexy alpha yumminess and quirky females you want to hang with. She writes younger heroes and heroines and older ones with kids, plus some awesome paranormal that works even if you say you’ll never read that stuff.
There are some quirky series orders, so pay close attention to the pink notes!
Reading Order From Kristen Ashley: “The Rock Chick Series (Now, this series is a definite first…BUT, I would strongly suggest reading The Colorado Mountain Series somewhere in this mix. You’ll need to have read Breathe before you read the finale to the Rock Chick Series, Rock Chick Revolution to get the full impact of something. I shall say no more! 🙂 “
The Rock Chick Series features The Hot Bunch. All about hot security/detective types. A fun group of girls, total Alpha guys, and the most fun series. The characters from The Rock Chick Series pop up in almost all of the other series, so you should start here.
Based in Denver, the Rock Chick Series is eight books that take you on the wild ride of the courtships of the Rock Chicks and the Hot Bunch.
1. Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley

2. Rock Chick Rescue by Kristen Ashley
“Since I’m bein’ honest with you Chiquita, I’ll tell you I usually play with what I want until I feel the time is right to move in. The time was right with you a long time ago but you’ve been so focused on your own shit, you gave me no opening. This hasn’t been fast. You want to see fast, we’ll go into the bedroom and I’ll show you fast, but I’ll show it to you slow.”

3. Rock Chick Redemption by Kristen Ashley
“It looked like GQ was having a convention and all the best looking guys had decided to have coffee at Fortnum’s before going to seminars on how to cope with being really, unbelievably, fucking gorgeous.”
There were five of them. Two looked a lot alike, like they were brothers. But, of the lot, it was only the one with the whiskey-colored eyes that got my attention. They were all looking at me, but the minute my eyes hit Whisky, I felt lightheaded and had to stand stock-still or I would have fallen over in a dead faint.”

4. Rock Chick Renegade by Kristen Ashley
“Any man is defined by the woman who shared her bed with him… and it works the other way too… if someone like you, someone as unbelievably beautiful as you, as crazy and sweet as you, filled with attitude and courage with her heart in the right place… if someone like you shares her bed with me, then that says something about me….This is it. You and me. No matter what.”

5. Rock Chick Revenge by Kristen Ashley
“I’m not lettin’ you go. I’m not lettin’ you push me away and I’m not giving up. I’m gonna keep working until I piece together what your dad and those assholes tore from you. I’m gonna keep at you until you let me in. I’m not gonna stop until you tell me you’re mine, until it comes straight from your mouth, preferably when I’m deep inside you and you’re lookin’ at me like you look at me when I’m close to makin’ you come.”

6. Rock Chick Reckoning by Kristen Ashley
“You still love me?” he asked.
My eyes narrowed. “What kind of question is that?” I snapped.
“Answer it.”
“I will not, it’s –”
“Answer it!” he barked and I went still at the ferocity in his voice.
Then I whispered, “Of course I do.”
“Then we’re done talkin’. I’m gonna fuck you until I’ve erased everything I’ve said. Until the only thing you can think of is my cock inside you and my hands and mouth on you. Until I hear that fuckin’ voice of yours telling me you love me. I’m gonna fuck you until I know it’s me you want, despite all this shit, and I don’t care if it takes a fuckin’ week.”

7. Rock Chick Regret by Kristen Ashley
“I think you’re even more beautiful and I think you’re totally lost”
“And you think you can help me find my way?”
He shook his head, his eyes went warm and I got another neck squeeze, coupled with a tightening of his arm around my waist. “Mamita, only you can find your way. I just wanna be along for the ride.”

DO NOT FINISH THIS SERIES WITHOUT READING BREATHE
8. Rock Chick Revolution by Kristen Ashley
“I’ve had fuck buddies, Ally. And not one of them looked like you look when I slide inside you. Like a piece of you has been lost and now it’s found.”
Oh crap.
I probably looked just like that.
Because when he slid inside me, that was precisely what it felt like.

The Colorado Mountain Series
From Kristen: The Colorado Mountain Series takes place in a trinity of fictional Colorado towns situated close to each other, Gnaw Bone, Carnal and Chantelle. This series that will be seven novels follows the stories of seven connected men on their rocky road to second chances.
“In my life, I’ve learned when to let shit go and when to fight for it. This, babe, what we got, I’ll fight for.”
Nina & Max’s story.

2. Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain Book 2)
“God, if he wasn’t so handsome, strong,
sometimes sweet, didn’t have a Harley, that beard, a tendency to play with my hair, didn’t look so good in jeans and wasn’t so danged good in bed, he would seriously not be worth it.”
Lauren and Tate (OMG, just TRY not to totally fall for Tate!) This was my first Kristen Ashley book, and it hooked me for life. I do not have a review for this, I read it before I started the blog. It is at least 5 stars though!
Purchase: Amazon || BN.com || iBooks
3. Lady Luck (Colorado Mountain Series Book 3)
“What you need to give me is to know it is not about you, it’s about me, you gotta suck it up and stand by me, you gotta know, in the end, I’ll work my ass off to make it all worth it to you and you gotta always remember I love you and I have never, not once, said those words to any breathing soul so you also gotta know what that means.”
Ty & Lexie (Sigh, Ty — see what I did there? I rhymed). I read this before I started the blog, so no review.
4. Breathe (Colorado Mountain Series Book 4)
“Faye, darlin’, I want you to hear this and get it, what you just gave me was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever been given in…my…life…With me, anytime, anywhere, you’re safe. But of the anytime and anyplace you’re with me, the place you’re safest is right here, in my bed…You can react how you want. You can be who you are. If I’m doin’ something you don’t like, you can stop me. Nothin’ will ever happen in this bed that you’ll be uncomfortable with. I swear to you, baby. You’re safe here and you always will be.” -Chase

5. Jagged (Colorado Mountain Series Book 5)
“His lips came to mine where he whispered, “Love of your life.” I stilled. Then I drew in a soft breath. After that, I admitted, “It’s always been you.”
Fuck, now I gotta fuck you again,” he murmured, but his murmur was jagged.”

6. Kaleidoscope (Colorado Mountain Series Book 6)
“You piss me off. You make me laugh. You make me think. You’re absolutely fine with me being nothin’ but me. You’re fuckin’ gorgeous. You’re a great lay. And you like my dog.”

From Kristen: “Based in my hometown of Brownsburg, Indiana, The ‘Burg Series will be six books following the interweaving tales of friends, family, love and crime in a small town.” These can also be read after all the Chaos and Unfinished hero books.
“… she tipped her head back and in his ear, she whispered, “Since I was three, there’s never been a day when I wasn’t in love with you.”

2. At Peace (The ‘Burg Series 2)
“You’re mine, the girls are mine. I’m stakin’ my claim with you right now…”
“You’re unbelievable,” I snapped.
“I’m yours.”
That socked me in the gut… Taking advantage, his face dipped close and his hands curled around both sides of by head.
“First fuckin’ time you smiled at me in my bed, that’s when it happened,” he murmered.”
OMG…LOVE this book!

3. Golden Trail (The ‘Burg Series 3)
“Live this with me, just live it, whatever happens, however it happens, live it with me for two days. It doesn’t go the way you like, we’ll talk Monday night. It goes the way you like, we live it real and ride it out. Will you give me that, honey?”

4. Games of the Heart (The ‘Burg Series 4)
“You’re right, I’m here to right wrongs and I’m gonna do it, Angel. You told me I’d had my last chance but I don’t accept that and I won’t. If you tell me now that my explanation is not enough and you want me gone, I’m not goin’. I’m not giving up. I got one part of my life’s dream still open to me, every sign she gives me is screaming that she’s standing in my arms right now and I’m not gonna be ninety years old, looking back on my life and regretting that I gave up that dream.”

5. The Promise (The ‘Burg Series)
“You’re crazy-brave, babe,” he said quietly…You’re crazy-beautiful and I ‘spect you been that way all your life. You’re crazy funny. You’re crazy sweet…Seven years I been fuckin’ up. Right now, that shit ends.”
The Dream Man Series is similar to the Rock Chicks but a little grittier, and a little sexier.
“About five seconds after I left you today, things between you and
me, they changed,” he informed me in a quiet voice.
I felt my brows draw together as my mind processed the fact that
this was not good.
“Changed?” I asked. “How?”
“You got attitude, the kind I like. So I decided I’m gonna ride that
attitude wave of yours, see how things work out.”
2. Wild Man (The Dream Man Series)
“I can’t make any promises about where this is gonna go but what I can do is give you me, keep you safe while you walk on the wild side and work my ass off to do what I can so this never goes bad for you.”
3. Law Man (The Dream Man Series)
“Mara, I’m keepin’ you safe. I’m keepin’ those kids safe and you don’t have a choice in that, sweetheart. Thats just the way it’s gonna be… I was made to protect you and you were made in the way that it would always be worth it.”
4. Motorcycle Man (Dream Man Series Book 4) (This started the whole motorcycle craze!)
“No baby, I’m not scaring you. You’re just scared. You give me a little more, you’ll see I’ll protect it. More, I’ll protect that too. When you give it all to me, if it works with us in a way that lasts, you’ll never be scared. You’ll feel safe enough to have your eyes open, your arms up and you’ll enjoy the fuck outta the ride. I’ll see to that, Red, and that’s a promise.”
From Kristen: The Chaos Series is a spin-off of my Dream Man Series, taking us on the journeys of the lives and loves of the boys of the Chaos Motorcycle Club. Currently, there are two books in this series that have been published. I’m uncertain as of now how many there will be (at least five, maybe more – I like me some Chaos boys!).
1. Own the Wind: A Chaos Novel
“This is why.” he clipped, stalked the three steps that separated them, snaked an arm around her waist, drove a hand into the back of her hair, and hauled her into his arms.
He slammed his mouth down on hers. Then he thrust his tongue between her lips and there it was….
Phenomenal.
Better than he would have guessed. Better than years of wondering how good it could be.
The best he ever had.
With just a fucking KISS.”
Read my 5 star review (and interview!)
“Every step, every breath, every second I lived on this earth, I’m thankful for, no matter how fucked up or whacked or hard or good, ’cause all that shit led me to you.”
2.5 A Christmas to Remember (Chaos)
A Chaos short story in this anthology
“I held on, pressed close, and enjoyed my first Christmas kiss from Shy Cage.
And I enjoyed it a whole lot.
When he broke the kiss and lifted his head half an inch, he whispered, “Merry Christmas, Tabby.”
Oh yeah.
Loved my man.”
Note from Kristen: The Unfinished Hero Series are not my usual steamy romances, they are erotic romances. Not erotica, as such, but the sex in these books, starting with Knight, is quite explicit and explores the intricacies of love and trust in a relationship, including sexually.
That said, these are love stories. It isn’t about sex, it is about happily ever after. As always.
And last, one final warning, the heroes of these books are anti-heroes. They are good men who do bad things. They have their reasons. They have their own codes. They may seek (and find) redemption. Or they may not. They simply are who they are, do what they do, and find love along the way.
“Wars fought over a face like this,” he murmured like he was talking to himself, my heart stopped beating and his thumbs moved lightly across my cheeks. “A man would work himself into the ground for it, go down to his knees to beg to keep it, endure torture to protect it, take a bullet for it,” his eyes came to mine, “poison his brother to possess a face like this.”
“Jesus, I’m gonna possess that beauty.”
BEWARE: The heroine refers to the hero as “Daddy”. I had a hard time with it the first time I read it, but the second time I just changed it in my head and loved it.
2. Creed (The Unfinished Heroes Series Book 2)
“Then and now, beautiful, I’ll take you any way you come to me … Any way. I love this Sylvie, I loved that Sylvie. I just love you, baby.”
3. Raid (The Unfinished Heroes Series Book 3)
“He crossed his arms on his chest, making the muscles in his biceps bulge and the veins in his forearms pop. I was concentrating on taking in all the fabulousness so I might have missed the full orgasm but I was relatively sure I had a mini one.
Then he smiled.
There it was.
The full orgasm.
It was a wonder I didn’t moan.”
4. Deacon (The Unfinished Heroes Series Book 4)
“I was a cold motherfucker, off the grid, no life, no home, no ties, no emotions, everyone knew it. Until I came back to some rundown cabins I’d been to before that were off the beaten path…A place no one could find me. But when I came back, a beautiful woman with attitude, amazing eyes, and lips I wanted wrapped around my dick was fighting with her boyfriend. Lucky me, later, I found she was stubborn, ornery, funny, strong, spoke her mind, liked dogs, to be tied up…and she resurrected me.”
5. Sebring (coming 2015)
Heaven and Hell is a contemporary romance that stands alone for now, but there is more to come.
According to Kristen “Heaven and Hell would be more fun to read after the Rock Chicks, the Colorado Mountain and The ‘Burg series are consumed.”
“He was the most beautiful man I’d ever seen in my life. By far. And that was before I saw him in real life and in real life he was more beautiful than ever.
But that deep, rough-like-velvet laughter glided right across every inch of my skin, leaving beauty in its wake that soaked through and, I swear to God, it felt like it settled into my soul.”
The Magdalene Series
From Kristen: The Magdalene Series is a new series starting in 2014 (I know, I’m crazy, but there it is…these stories have to be told). It will be a trilogy of romances set in the fictional town of Magdalene, Maine.
“
More from Kristen: Well, if you’ve read The Will, then I hope you’ll do a mental “RIGHT ON!” when you read that Mickey and Coert will get their own stories. And the latest news, I’ve decided Mickey will be first and I’ve decided his story has to be told soon. As in very soon. I’m hoping (send me good vibes) to have this ready for you to go back to Maine and spend some time in Magdalene early in 2015.
Coert will bookend the series so there’s even more to come!
“I’m afraid,” I admitted softly.
His arms pulled me closer and I felt his lips on my hair when he answered, “Beat that back, honey. No reason to be scared. Not with me.”

Play It Safe
“Never before, never since have I felt for any woman, fuck anyone the way I felt about you. I want that back. I want my girl back.”
I haven’t read this one yet, I’m saving it for a book slump.
PARANORMALS
Even of you don’t read paranormal, they are Kristen Ashley, so they are AMAZING
From Kristen Ashley: The Three Series will be a trilogy (not surprising) which follow the three couples, mixtures of immortal and mortal, prophesied to save humanity. We start with a vampire and a human. We move onto werewolves. And after that…surprise!
“I’ve been waiting to have you since I knew you existed. But I’ve been waiting for someone like you for five fucking centuries.”
“Eight hundred, twenty-two years, I’ve never felt anything this beautiful,” he whispered, still driving and my eyes, half-closed, shot open.
Oh God. I loved that he thought that. He wasn’t done. His gaze held mine.
“Eight hundred, twenty-two years, I’ve never seen anything this beautiful.”
Oh God. God!
“I could fuck you for eternity,” he whispered.

Wild and Free (The Three Series Book 3)
“I was born to be yours, you know,” I told him.
“I know.” he told me.
I nestled deep and whispered, “I’m sorry I took so long.”
Abel said nothing, just held me tighter.
“We’ll live wild and free,” I promised.
“You got it,” he agreed, now his voice was rough.
“After we save the world, that is.”…
“Born to be yours, baby,” I kept whispering.
Review coming next week
The Fantasyland Series
The Fantasyland Series will be a series of five novels that take place in our world and a parellel universe where fantasies are true…but perhaps not all you would expect. Includes dragons, plots, poison, magic, and more.
Wildest Dreams | The Golden Dynasty | Fantastical
| Broken Dove
One more is coming in this series.
I haven’t read these YET, so I don’t have quotes.
An important FYI (from Kristen): Three books in my Ghosts and Reincarnation Series take place in my favorite National Trust properties. Penmort Castle is based on Dunster Castle. Sommersgate House takes place in a property based on Tyntesfield. And Lacybourne Manor in one based on Clevedon Court. If you ever have the opportunity, my strong recommendation is to see these beautiful properties and hopefully, one day, you can read these books that fictionally take place in them. To learn more about The National Trust, go to: www.nationaltrust.org.uk
Sommersgate House | Lacybourne Manor
| Penmort Castle
| Fairytale Come Alive
| Lucky Stars
One more book is expected
Paranormal Standalones (for now)
Three Wishes (Genies! I love genies, and I never read a book with one!)
Mathilda, SuperWitch (Mathilda’s Book of Shadows 1) there is more planned….
Who is your favorite character you have written?
Tex from the Rock Chicks. He’s funny. He’s lovable. He’s loyal. He’s unpredictable. He’s who he is and you take him as he comes. And he’s based on two men in my life, one who I adore beyond reason (who is totally not like Tex except in the way he loves) and one who I knew only briefly but he took care of me. So, it can’t get better than Tex!
Your favorite couple/male/female (that you wrote):
Girlie! You know this is impossible to answer! No way. They might all start fighting in my head if I tried to answer this and then I’d slip into catatonia and how would I get through Downton Abbey (or write more books) if that happened? I love the one I’m with. Always.
Your favorite book (written by you):
See above. 🙂
Your favorite book (written by others):
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
If you read three books in this life, you recommend __________________:
Oh, what a sad life it would be to have only three books in it (don’t we know).
Okay, too many to list so off the top of my head: To Kill a Mockingbird. Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. And Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught.
A sex word you hate to read and would never write:
My head jerked when I read this question because I immediately thought, “IS there a sex word I hate and would never write?” Then it came to me. “Penis.” It’s not a sex word, as such, and yet it is. Not that I hate the word, but it’s so clinical I shy away from it (but can’t say in all the books I’ve written I’ve NEVER used it). Now I feel the need to use it. To challenge myself. If it doesn’t work, I’m blaming you!
Ana: Oh shit.
Your favorite TV show:
At this very moment, Downton Abbey.
What kind of music do you love/loathe:
There is very little music I loathe. I just love music. Top preference, rock ‘n’ roll!
Who is your favorite band?
Pearl Jam. I love me a lot of music but it always comes back to Pearl Jam.
What song are you embarrassed to admit you sing to every time?
I don’t get embarrassed for liking things. If I like it, I own it. For example, “Call Me Maybe” has a bad rep but I freakin’ LOVE that song and sing and jig to it whenever it comes on. And IF I were to EVER do karaoke (which I would not subject any human being to if it could be avoided), it would be Cher’s “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves.” In my car, I ROCK THAT SONG!
Ana’s note: Watch the “Call Me Maybe” video to the end.
Your favorite non-book related activity:
Probably shopping. Even if I’m not out to buy anything, I dig browsing and wandering and ending up getting myself a latte. For some reason, in a busy life, doing this feels very decadent! Okay, not probably shopping, definitely shopping.
The weirdest fun fact about you:
I think pretty much everything is weird about me. I’m a pretty weird gal. Most your readers probably think it’s me still liking “Call Me Maybe.” Maybe it would be surprising to folks to know I’m incredibly tidy and organized. To the point that all my clothes are hung according to hue then sleeve/pants length and I wipe down my kitchen sink after every use because it’s stainless steel and I dislike water spots. I have a happily disordered mind so order around me is a good thing. And I just like pretty and don’t mind making things look pretty. So there you go!
A new holiday tradition you started that you love:
I didn’t start it, my sister did. But we have my mom’s lasagna on Christmas Eve night. Mom’s no longer with us so it’s our way of having her with us. It might seem strange, but this is very emotional for my family and even I don’t exactly know why. We always get a bit overwhelmed during the making of it. Likely because it reminds us that Mom’s with us, always will be, even if we’ve lost her.
How do you spend your holidays?
Christmas Eve: family get together, make and eat Mom’s lasagna, then it’s a probable re-watch of White Christmas and/or A Christmas Story. We could play games (additionally or instead of movies). Then even though my nieces are no longer young, we force the issue because, you know, we can. So they go to bed and Santa comes, getting the presents arranged under the tree (which means spreading them out across the floor) and doing stockings.
We sleep with the tree lights on, only night of the year, but we do it so when we get, we get to see that beauty:
Coffee is made, Christmas music put on, then it’s free-for-all stockings before we hand out presents. This is not free-for-all. We go from oldest to youngest (or vice versa) and everyone has to pay attention when folks open their gifts. We do the “thank you” thing right away – tears, hugs, kisses, jumping up and down, however that comes about – and everyone has to witness it. It takes hours, but it’s AWESOME. Then, of course, there are hunts for gifts that pertain to clues found all over the house or yard or garage. We get creative (I have something planned for my niece that involves texts this year – I can’t wait!).
This leads to breakfast casserole a la my sister, E which leads to more games, movie watching, Christmas communing, copious snacking, and a big dinner where we’re all likely still in our pajamas.
In other words, perfection!
An embarrassing Holiday story:
Hmm…again with the not really being embarrassed thing. I am who I am and that can be goofy, klutzy, dorky and nerdy! Though, when I was a teenager, I did run through some perfume I spritzed in the air and got it in my eyes which blinded me for about ten minutes. But since it was temporary, that was funny…even at the time!
The favorite gift you’ve ever given or received.
I get it every year. Being with people I love on a special day and having the opportunity to make new memories.
Ana’s note: Best answer <3
Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake. Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
